Either create a compilation CDROM that showcases your best pieces of work or, better still, create
an online portfolio. This is much easier to distribute and can be viewed by many more people.
Keep it simple. No employer is going to be interested in a portfolio that is difficult to navigate
or cluttered so make sure it is well structured.
Think about how you present your work. Your portfolio will give potential employers an insight into
the type of person you are so make sure it's a good reflection. If you're presenting print work or
hard-copies of online work make sure their in a portfolio case or binder.
Keep it up to date. Just finished a piece of work you're proud of? Put it in. Make sure you're showing
all your current skills.
Can you talk about it? In an interview situation a potential employer will expect you to be able to talk
about the work in your portfolio. You'll need to be ale to tell them what your briefs were and how you
met the challenges.
Always test your online portfolio with different web browsers and ensure your site loads quickly. Not
everyone will have the latest web browsers so always try to test with older versions as well.
Working as a creative? While your CV might open a door for you, as a creative your portfolio will be what really sells you.
